The Invisible Bike Meme, Every Version
The invisible bike meme is any picture or clip of someone riding a bike that is not there. It started with photo edits that erased bicycles from under real cyclists, passed through a lolcat and the Crazy Frog invisible motorcycle, and in October 2026 became an AI video: you squat on the invisible bike while a hover-bike cop chases you.

Four kinds of invisible bike in 23 years. Each one borrowed the joke and changed the medium.
The full Crazy Frog story2003
The frog rides nothing
Erik Wernquist’s animation The Annoying Thing shows a goggled frog riding an invisible motorbike to a moped noise. It becomes Crazy Frog.
2005
Floating, Shanghai
Photographer Zhao Huasen erases the bicycles from under Shanghai commuters. Holy Taco does the same to celebrities on 23 March 2009, and the series goes viral in 2012.
2008
The lolcat mural
The Invisible Bike lolcat, a cat on its back with paws up, is painted on a wall on Quincy Street, San Francisco, in May 2008.
2026
The AI chase
TikTok fills with AI videos of real people squatting on an invisible motorcycle, chased by a hover-bike cop.
Versions
Four invisible bike memes, side by side
The same joke in four forms. The first three are our own illustrations of each version, not the originals; the last is a frame from a real Crazy Frog AI video.

The bikeless cyclist: a real rider with the bicycle edited out. The seated pose and the shadow sell the joke.
The lolcat: any cat on its back with its paws up, captioned as riding an invisible bike.
The Crazy Frog squat in real life: knees bent, fists out, filmed by a friend. The pose the AI trend copies.
The AI chase: your face on the squat, a hover-bike cop behind you and a flip at the end. Made from one photo.

The pose
How to do the invisible bike pose in real life
Before AI, the Crazy Frog version was a dance: people squatted on the invisible motorcycle at parties, in school hallways and on TikTok. It takes ten seconds to learn.

Ride the invisible motorcycle
Film from hip height so the squat looks fast. Play Axel F, hold the pose for the drop, then lean into a turn.
- Feet wider than your shoulders, toes slightly out
- Bend your knees until your thighs are close to level
- Lean forward and push both fists out at chest height, like gripping handlebars
- Twist your right fist as if opening the throttle
- Look over your shoulder once, as if someone is chasing you
Make your own
Put your face in the invisible bike meme
The 2026 version needs no squat and no editing: an AI video generator puts you on the invisible motorcycle from one photo.

FAQ
Invisible bike meme FAQ
Partly. The Crazy Frog rides an invisible motorbike, so its squat is one invisible bike meme. The bikeless cyclist photos and the lolcat are separate memes with no frog in them. The frog’s own story is on the Crazy Frog meme page.
It is a lolcat from the late 2000s: a photo of a cat lying on its back with its paws in the air, captioned as riding an invisible bike. A mural of it went up in San Francisco in May 2008.
The best-known set is Floating by Chinese photographer Zhao Huasen, from 2005: commuters in Shanghai with their bicycles removed. Holy Taco’s 2009 gallery did the same with celebrities.
The character was built around a sound: Daniel Malmedahl’s 1997 impression of a two-stroke moped. Erik Wernquist animated a creature riding the engine noise, and there was no bike to draw.
No. It is generated: an AI video model copies a reference chase and swaps in the face, hair and outfit from your photo. Nothing is filmed.
No. The trend clip is the Crazy Frog squat on an invisible motorcycle, so every Crazy Frog AI video keeps that pose. For a seated bicycle pose, edit a real cycling photo instead.
